Working with 7digital’s team, we redesigned an existing space into their new client-facing listening room. The room was surrounded by glass which is acoustically a big problem. Keen to avoid curtains and maintain the company’s bold brand image, we opted to create movable panels with a sound absorbing surface. We looked to Heradesign, who create an acoustical wood wool product, which can be sprayed to match any colour, allowing us to directly translate 7digitals brand colours and include them in the room. Working with bespoke interior craftsman Michael Thorp of Warrington & Rose, we designed panels to cover the largest window. These are also demountable, and so allowing the system to be easily re-installed elsewhere if need be. The furniture we chose is from British Design firm HitchMylius. Again, the colours and textures are a nod to the company’s brand image, creating a flexible space which can be added to if the need arises. Not only are the pieces made in the UK, but they are extremely robust, key factors that should be considered when specifying furniture when you are looking at keeping a low carbon foot print.
